CAREER COUNSELING

Determining which career path is best for you is an important decision. You are not alone as you try to figure out what your own personal goals and aspirations are. Research shows that the average person will explore at least three different career paths in his/her lifetime. The FKCC Advising Services Career Lab is here to assist you in making this important decision, be it your childhood dream occupation or your second career transition.

The Career Lab is open for your use during regular office hours.
It offers the following programs and services:

Career Library featuring current books on the latest employment trends, how to choose a career, exploring your personal strengths & talents, as well as information on transferring to Florida colleges and universities.

FACTS.org : Choices Planner can assess and identify your interests, and match those interests with occupations within Florida. The site also has extensive databases of occupations, colleges, universities, and graduate schools.  Available via http://www.facts.org

Career Interest Inventory: Find out what your interests and hobbies indicate will be ideal career choices. An FKCC Academic Advisor will be happy to discuss the results and how they reflect on your future career opportunities.

Florida Health Careers: This software explores the top health care professions and the anticipated need, salary, training, and education for each profession. For more information, check out http://www.medinfo.ufl.edu/.
