How to Apply

Presidential Search Application

Application submissions will be accepted beginning in January 2012 through March 1, 2012*. Submissions must be complete with the inclusion of: the FKCC application; a cover letter outlining how the applicant fulfils and would implement the 14 qualities listed in the presidential profile; resume or CV; three letters of reference; and transcripts depicting highest degree awarded.

Presidential Selection Process

  • Applicants will be screened by the Presidential Search Committee and only those meeting the minimum criteria (as outlined in the profile) will be considered.  From those qualified applicants, the search committee will identify semi-finalists.  The semi-finalists will be notified of their advancement to the next stage in the process, while those not moving forward will also be notified via email or letter.
  • Semi-finalists will then be interviewed by the Presidential Search Committee via WebEx online video conferencing system.*  Based on the interviews, the search committee will select three to five finalists that will be submitted to the Board of Trustees.
  • Once identified, the finalists will be contacted to arrange travel to the Key West Campus for the final round of interviews, which will include activities such as town hall type forums, campus tours, and meetings with the Board of Trustees. Once the final interview concludes, the Board of Trustees will make their selection and enter into negotiations with the selected candidate. Those finalists who were not selected will be notified of the decision via phone call or letter.
  • The selected candidate will be asked to report for duty as FKCC’s sixth President on the first day of the 2012-2013 fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2012.

*Semi-finalists will be interviewed via WebEx. This process replaces the initially-posted requirement of a video submission.
