The work of Florida Keys Community College’s Presidential Search Committee concluded today with the selection of three finalists for the job of the college’s sixth president.  The 11-member committee, comprised of college and community representatives and chaired by Trustee Dr. Antoinette Martin, determined the finalists from an original pool of 43.  The committee narrowed their selection through a series of reviews of the applicants’ qualifications, experience and background, and ultimately web conference interviews with nine semi-finalists.

The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are:

  • Dr. George Bishop
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Learning Support
    Gulf Coast State College
  • Dr. Jonathan Gueverra
    Chief Executive Officer
Community College of the District of Columbia
  • Dr. Allen Witt
    President, South Shore Campus
    Hillsborough Community College

The finalists will individually participate in public forums beginning at 9:00a.m. on Friday, April 27 in the lobby of the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the Key West Campus.  All FKCC stakeholders are invited to attend and ask questions of the finalists.
The college’s Board of Trustees will conduct formal interviews with each candidate over that weekend.  Then, at its monthly board meeting on Monday, April 30, the board will select the sixth president of FKCC, with a targeted start date of July 1.
