SINGLE OFFICER RESPONSE TO ACTIVE THREAT AND SHOOTER INCIDENTS (#1402)

This 16-hour Specialized Training Course prepares the SRO to respond immediately to an active shoot incident. Officers will learn the mental and technical aspects of a single officer response to an active assailant.

  • Location: Marathon – MCSO Hangar/ Firearms Range (You will need 200 rounds frangible ammo)

  • Tuition: Region 14 Trust Funded
  • To Enroll: Monroe County Deputies, Key West Police Officers and Key Colony Beach Police Officers must contact their Training Divisions. Region 14 Officers have first priority. Region 15 State Officers must have letter of intent to make reciprocal payment on file with this training center prior to admission to class. Sworn federal officers may attend on a space available basis. Enrollment is capped at 20 students.

This 16-hour Specialized Training Course prepares CJSTC-certified firearms instructors the methods, tactics and exercises used in course #1402 Single Officer Response to Active Threat and Shooter Incidents and to prepare those instructors to teach the course to other officers.

ADVANCED REPORT WRITING

This course is developed and improved to assist Criminal Justice officers in basic elements of report writing. Areas include: sentence structure, format and content, use of quotations, subject-verb agreement, note taking, and organizational structure for notes. Officers are required to bring reports they have previously written.

FIELD TRAINING OFFICER

This 40-hour Advanced Training Course was designed to introduce the criminal justice officer to all aspects of field training and evaluation programs modeled after the San Jose Police Department program.

LASER/RADAR SPEED MEASUREMENT COURSE

This 40-hour Advanced Training Course is designed to certify the officer to use Speed Enforcement Traffic Radar & Laser in accordance with the Florida Statute.
