Eligibility: to be eligible to participate in the Cooperative Education Program, a
student must:
have a 2.0 overall grade point average and maintain the average
throughout the program
be officially degree seeking in the Associate in Arts, Associate in
Science, Associate in Applied Science, or a certificate program
have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of college credit
with a minimum of 6 semester hours earned at FKCC (does not
include college preparatory courses)
be enrolled in no fewer than 6 semester hours including Cooperative
have a job related to your degree program of study
Students interested in cooperative education should meet and discuss this
opportunity with their advisor/program advisor.
The Interactive Student Learning Environment, “ISLE”, located in B206 on the Key
West Campus, provides studying support resources and services. . The learning
center is staffed by FKCC faculty and staff, PTK tutors, and a work study. Students
who make use of the “ISLE” can expect personal attention, access to remedial
workshops, and tutoring. The space itself consists of 12 computers, an LCD
projector, large tables for group study, white boards, and other amenities.
In the “ISLE,” students can practice power point presentations, rehearse speeches,
and edit essays. Computer assistance is available, as well as support for students
accessing the online tutoring system
Smart Thinking.”“Smart Thinking” is offered free of charge, and allows students to
connect with an online tutor 24/7.
